Switzerland contributes CHF 1.257 billion to Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus.

With this enlargement contribution Switzerland supports the reduction of economic and social disparities within the EU, thus consolidating its relations with the EU as a whole and in particular with the 12 most recent member states.

At the Annual Conference of Swiss Cooperation with Eastern Europe on 31 May 2013 in Bern, SDC and SECO will explain how the projects for the implementation of the enlargement contribution are progressing. We would like to invite you to see what we have achieved so far and the challenges that are facing us.

Two high-ranking government representatives from the Czech Republic and Latvia will talk about the significance of the Swiss enlargement contribution for their countries. In two parallel events, project managers will give first-hand accounts of these activities. Several films will also show in an exemplary manner how the projects are implemented, what they achieve and whom they benefit. At the end of the annual conference there will be a plenary in which the opportunities and challenges of bilateral cooperation will be discussed.

Before and during the conference and during aperitifs at the end participants will be able to ask questions and to exchange points of view. There will also be an exhibition presenting projects by the 12 partner states
