Switzerland

Mandatory quarantine for persons arriving in Switzerland: List of the states and areas with an increased risk of infection, Infoline for people travelling to Switzerland: +41 58 464 44 88, from 6am to 11pm.

Swiss travelers should register themselves as well as their journey abroad with the Travel Admin App. This enables the FDFA to send registered app users useful information if necessary.

As of February 8, 2021, all persons travelling to Switzerland must show the following documentation:

1.  Negative PCR test result
You must be able to show proof of a negative coronavirus PCR test, not older than 72 hours before boarding the plane. Without a negative test result, you are not allowed to board the aircraft. The test must have been a molecular-biological analysis for the new coronavirus, for example a PCR test. The result of a rapid antigen test is not sufficient.

2.  Entry form to register all contact details:
The electronic entry form is available at swissplf.admin.ch. Important: Fill out the form before your entry to Switzerland.
You can fill out the electronic entry form on a computer or smartphone before or during travel. Once you have filled out the form, you will be emailed a QR code as confirmation. Have this code ready for inspection when you enter Switzerland. If you are controlled you can show the QR code on your smartphone or produce a printed confirmation.
You will find plenty of information in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). For example, you will find information on what to do if you do not have a seat number or if there are technical problems, about data protection and about the paper version of the form.

3.  As of May 31, 2021 the following exemptions apply

Vaccinated persons: Persons vaccinated entirely with a vaccine recognized by Switzerland are now exempt from quarantine, testing and the obligation to complete the electronic entry form. This exemption also applies to persons who contracted Covid-19 in the past 6 months and are considered cured. The conditions of these exemptions are described in Annex 1a of the Covid-19 Ordinance in the field of international passenger transport of January 27, 2021 (link: only available in French, l’annexe 1a de l’Ordonnance Covid-19 dans le domaine du transport international de voyageurs du 27 janvier 2021 (German).

4. As of June 26, 2021 the following additional facilitation applies:

On June 23, 2021, the Federal Council decided to lift the entry regulations for persons from third countries who are fully vaccinated or fully recovered from Covid-19. For those persons the regular entry requirements will apply again. At time of entering Switzerland, a certificate of proof of vaccination or recovery must be shown.
