Isabelle Pilloud is a Swiss visual artist from Fribourg. She is currently traveling around the globe and producing a "World Map of Heroines". This participative work in progress aims at showcasing the achievements of women of many countries, while inviting the public to take part in the creation. The artist has embroidered the five continents on a canvas, and visitors can then add a pearl on a location where "their" heroine is living or has lived. People can also leave a comment about the story of this woman. Thus the world map is increasingly enlightened, as testimonies and pearls accumulate.
