Draussenwelten, an initiative of the Goethe-Institut Tokyo, invites Japanese directors and actors to perform readings of recent plays which reflect the state and context of contemporary German-speaking culture.

This year’s program features «Frau Schmitz» by Swiss writer Lukas Bärfuss (1971–), who was awarded the Berlin Literature prize in 2013 and the Swiss Book Prize in
2014. The play was translated by Koki Matsuu and directed by Yasuhito Yano
from the theater company «shelf».
