During the press-conference organized in Nur-Sultan, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, highlighted that in 2020, the International Organization of Francophonie celebrates its 50th anniversary and underlined the common values that unite the members of the Francophonie, in particular the promotion of democracy and the respect for human rights. These values go back to the French Revolution which demanded "freedom, equality and fraternity".
In addition, Mr. Ambassador briefed about the economic ties between Switzerland and Kazakhstan and presented the contribution of Switzerland to “Printemps Francophone 2020”, namely, the film “The woman and the TGV” which will be shown in six cities in Kazakhstan, including Nur-Sultan, in Chaplin cinema next week, and a public meeting in Karaganda and Nur-Sultan with two Swiss writer-artists ("NomiNomi") by the end of April.
