Peter Düggeli appointed new head of FDFA Communication

Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis has appointed Peter Düggeli, Swiss Radio and Television's US correspondent, as the new head of communication at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Düggeli will take up his post on 1 April.

Peter Düggeli has been the US correspondent of Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) since 2015, focusing primarily on political reporting from Washington. Previously, he worked for SRF's 10vor10 programme and as business editor for the main evening news programme Tagesschau.

After studying history and English at the University of Fribourg, he completed a post-graduate degree at MAZ – The Swiss School of Journalism in Lucerne. Peter Düggeli is 50, married and has two children.

He succeeds Sebastian Hueber, who is leaving the FDFA.
