A Swiss Air Transport Service plane took off from Dübendorf for Ulaanbaatar on 12 July, carrying 2 tons of equipment: 40 oxygen ventilators and 45 oxygen concentrators with a total value of around CHF 700,000. In addition to this delivery of equipment, the SDC also granted CHF 150,000 to the Mongolian Ministry of Health for the purchase of four portable X-ray machines.

The equipment was received by the Ministry of Health and then transported to the various provinces. The Swiss Cooperation Office in Mongolia was in close contact with the local authorities to ensure that the humanitarian goods were distributed fairly, according to needs, and with special attention given to children and pregnant women.

The shipment sent to Mongolia was the fourth delivery of Swiss humanitarian aid to Asia in the space of a few weeks. Switzerland has already sent relief supplies to India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and later on also to Thailand. Switzerland continues to monito the health situation around the world in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and is ready to provide further assistance in response to request, if possible.
