Fourteen of the finest young military musicians from the Brass Band Recruit School 16-3/2016 finished their 21-week basic training at the beginning of March 2016, and were given the unique opportunity to perform with this ad hoc ensemble. They come from all over Switzerland and are all musicians in music clubs back home. Some of them have even won national and international music competitions.

For their participation in the official National Day reception they had a shared performance of national Anthems and of a Filipino medley with the Philippine Army Band. For the delight of the 300 guests the Swiss Military Small Band went on to provide the entertainment of the evening.

During their two days stay in Metro Manila the Swiss Military Small Band also performed with the Philippines Army Band at Fort Bonifacio army camp and had solo performances at the Ortigas Marco Polo hotel and at the Swiss Club National Day.
