Switzerland hosts civil society evening

The Embassy of Switzerland hosted an evening for the civil society partners. The event was an opportunity to thank Swiss partners for the great cooperation and work in the past year. Switzerland has supported several projects in different areas working closely with the civil society organizations and achieving visible results.

Councilor and Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Jean-Luc Oesch, used this occasion to highlight his satisfaction with the cooperation and stated:

“While, despite ongoing progress in Serbia, there are still economic, political and social challenges, the Swiss Embassy intends to promote dialogue and strengthen democratization, as well as contribute to keep channels of communication open across the region, including between Belgrade and Pristina.”

Mrs. Ursula Läubli, the Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office stated that within the Swiss Cooperation Strategy 2018-2021, Switzerland is also envisaging a new program “For an Active Civil Society”. “The aim of the program is to strengthen civil society organizations and increase citizens’ engagement in decision making processes, particularly at the local level,” stated Läubli.
