Civil society organizations signed contracts for institutional support within the ACT project

At the online ceremony SIGN ACT: Celebrating the beginning of ACT institutional support to civil society organizations, which was broadcast live on social networks, the goals and significance of this project were presented, and the organizations told us where they see themselves and civil society after two years working to strengthen their base in their communities.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Richard Kohli, on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Ivana Cirkovic, on behalf of the partner organization Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and Maja Stojanović from Civic Initiatives wished the participants success in the realization of their projects.

Institutional grants provide civil society organizations (CSOs) with the opportunity to receive financial support for institutional empowerment, to improve capacity for establishing and strengthening links with citizens.

In addition to financial support for institutional empowerment, organizations will have a specially designed and tailored program for the development, capacity building and improvement of skills and knowledge in a number of areas necessary for the further development of human and organizational resources.

The Government of Switzerland, through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has allocated funds totaling 4.8 million euro for the implementation of the first phase of the program, and the ACT project is implemented by the Swiss NGO HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and the Association of Citizens for Democracy and Civic Education Civic Initiatives.
