Closing Conference of the Sustainable Development for All Platform

The results of the current phase of the “SDGs for All” Platform were presented at the final conference entitled "Agenda 2030 - Together for a Sustainable Future", on June 8, 2022. The conference brought together close to 200 participants from diverse stakeholder groups, including civil society, national and local level institutions, the corporate sector, and the research and academic community, media and others, who took part both in person and on-line.

The audience was addressed by Jadranka Joksimović, Minister of European Integration in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia in charge of the 2030 Agenda. They stressed that the representatives of citizens, the state, civil society, the business sector and all others should jointly contribute to the realization of the sustainable development goals.

Jean-Luc Oesch, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Serbia, emphaszed that Switzerland, together with Germany, was committed to the project of achieving the sustainable development goals, and that it was important for Switzerland to support the Platform, which deals with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. “We will continue to invest in Serbia and support the Government of Serbia and its citizens in the implementation of the SDGs, including through this Platform," Oesch said.

During the conference, the representatives of the Platform summarized the key achievements over the past two years highlighting the main trends and developments in terms of the legislative, strategic and institutional alignment of Serbia with the 2030 Agenda. A discussion with participating stakeholders was launched on the need for energy transition and the processes of harmonization with the EU in the context of the fight against climate change. The participants also discussed the transition from the traditional model of the economy to a sustainable economy, which is at the heart of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.  The issues related to digital and green transformation as key processes for a sustainable economy were also discussed, as was greater involvement and commitment of the business sector to creating sustainable development.

The program "SDGs for All" is supported by the Governments of Switzerland and Germany, and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the project “Public Finance Reform – 2030 Agenda”. The Swiss Government supports this program to the tune of EUR 2.6 million.
