Ambassador Kupfer and the team at the Embassy of Switzerland were pleased to receive the visit of the Swiss National Culinary Team at the Embassy. The team was in Singapore to compete in the Food& Hotel Asia (FHA) Culinary Challenge for National teams. Over four days, the team of 10 competed against other countries’ national teams in several categories: Hot Cooking Buffet display, Hot Cooking Lunch Service and finally the Battle of the Lion.

The team – who endured a grueling schedule involving at most an hour or two of sleep per night – won a Silver medal at the Cold display and a Gold medal at the Hot Cooking challenge. Singapore won a Gold medal in the overall National Team Challenge.

We congratulate the Swiss National Culinary Team for this very commendable result and wish them every success at the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg in November.
