On the occasion of the celebration of DADA art movement’s 100th anniversary, the Embassy of Switzerland is proud to support Zurich based Cabaret Voltaire’s project "DADA on Tour" in Singapore.
After having travelled to New York, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Kochi and Switzerland, the mobile museum will be coming to Singapore. Housed in a tent, it will be on view at Art Stage Singapore from 21-24 January 2016 and will show a multimedia art installation on DADA.
DADA was initiated in 1916 by a group of Jewish artists who had settled in Zurich after having left Germany and Romania during WWI. Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich was the place where this group of artists started to use abstraction to fight against the social, political, and cultural ideas of that troubled time.
