Marching towards its 20th edition, Taipei Film Festival is one of the most important cinema events in Taiwan screening each year around 160 films from over 50 countries. The Festival will be held from the 28th June to 14th July at Taipei Zhongshan Hall, Shin Kong Cinemas, SPOT Huashan, and Bopiliao Historic Block.

Among the highlights of the Festival is the “International New Talent Competition” which will be featuring 12 films this year. A Swiss/German co-production entitled “Sarah Plays a Werewolf” (Sarah joue un loup-garou) by Katharina Wyss, an emerging filmmaker from Switzerland, has been selected for the Competition. Nominated both at the Venice Film Festival and Zurich Film Festival in 2017, the 86 min-movie is the director’s first feature  - she uses unusual close-ups of her characters to offer a palpable view of the inner life of an outsider.

“Sarah Plays a Werewolf” is scheduled for two screenings during the Festival:

  • 1st July (SUN) at 12:10 pm / Taipei Zhongshan Hall

  • 6th July (FRI) at 12:00 pm / Shin Kong Cinemas 2

Each screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Katharina Wyss.
