The aim of the Cyber Symposium was to promote a dialogue between representatives of the Swiss and British governments and the industrial sectors’ cyber security communities. In this year’s edition, a particular focus was placed on the cyber security of the private and especially the financial sector. The Symposium demonstrated the two countries’ approaches to cyber defence and discussed potential security threats and economic opportunities. Switzerland’s expanding knowledge in cyber security and its role as an innovation hub has presented the potential to foster further cooperation between UK authorities and their Swiss counterparts. High-ranking keynote speakers and panelists from both the public and private sector have been invited to participate. Attendees at this invitation-only event included representatives from both Ministries of Defence, the London Defence Attaché community, academia, businesses, think tanks and experts in the field from both countries.
