Hintergrund Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) faces ongoing development challenges due to its complex governance structure, political disputes, economic stagnation, and social inequalities. Yet, BiH is committed to global development priorities and has adopted its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Framework. The SDG Council of BiH, an intergovernmental body, plays a key role in driving the country’s sustainable development. Switzerland, a country advanced in sustainable development, offers valuable experience in implementing the SDGs. The two countries have common challenges in managing SDGs within a federal state with decentralized governance structures. Coordination, harmonization across governance levels, and a focus on localisation are key areas of mutual interest for experience exchange.
Ziele Improve governance of the SDG implementation and inspire sustainable development interventions in BiH based on mutual learning and broad exchange of knowledge and experience with Switzerland.
Zielgruppen Representatives of the public, civil and business sector from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland
Mittelfristige Wirkungen

  2. Business actors from BiH and Switzerland establish partnerships leading to more sustainable business practices.
  3. The civil society organisations and academic community in both countries are more aware of the value of the 2030 Agenda and actively contribute to implementation of the SDGs.
