Africa-Europe Development Platform – AEDP
Diaspora organizations in Europe have increasingly gained in importance. In order to achieve their goal of enhanced cooperation in countries of origin, and to play their role as development actors, required framework conditions need to be guaranteed. Effective network dynamics and activities are best managed on a permanent platform, setting structured grounds for a competent delivery of relevant and appropriate context specific services to diaspora organizations, countries of destination and countries of origin. This platform-building is at the core of the Africa-Europe Development Platform (AEDP) project.

Resultate |
Resultate von früheren Phasen: A Europe-wide diaspora network was established through the facilitation of constant face-to-face expert meetings and training workshops under the lead of four major diaspora consortium partners and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). However, activities and services were mainly separately delivered by the consortium partners, causing problems to an effective operational management of the network. Therefore, efforts are to be invested into the establishment of effectively functioning structures. Clearly defined responsibilities and a transparent communication system figure as key factors for ensuring the sustainability of the network. |
