Market Access of Products of Terroir - Tunisia, Phase I

The project aims at improving performance, market access and socio-economic conditions of the the harissa (chili pepper paste), the fig of Djebba and the prickly pear value chains in Tunisia. It strengthens the governance, the productivity, the quality compliance with labels and the product development of these products.


Energy districts in Colombia

The project will intervene in two strategic lines. On the one hand it will support the implementation of a high-impact pilot energy district in Medellin that will allow the complete elimination of old and highly energy-consuming ODS coolers. On the other hand it will provide technical assistance for the development of technical, institutional and financial sustainable mechanisms to promote the replication of several energy districts in the five main Colombian cities (Bogotá, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena) as an environmentally secure and energy-efficient alternative for the thermal regulation of buildings.

The Kosovo Inter-Ministerial Water Council (IMWC) aims at integrating water issues in the Kosovo Government development policies. The project will finance the building of a waste water treatment plant in the city of Kocani. It will improve the water quality of one of the main rivers in the country. The project contributes to the sustainable development of the Kocani region through protection of the natural resources. This will promote the economic development of the region.

This consolidation phase continues to aim at alleviating poverty of small and medium sized cotton farmers through the development of certified organic and fair trade cotton value chains for the international market. The focus will be on assuring the economic and institutional viability of the program. This shall be achieved by improving the market orientation of the organic value chain development, by strengthening portfolio and business management of the partner institutions, and by shaping a conducive environment for the development of the organic sector.
