Swiss National Day Celebrations 2021 in ZOOM Format at the E-House of Switzerland in Multilateral Vienna
“Due to the summer recess of the multilateral organisations in Vienna, the Swiss Mission hosted a Zoom meeting already on 15 July 2021 at the E-House of Switzerland in Multilateral Vienna (Logo) to celebrate the Swiss National Day 2021. The guest of honour was Canton Grisons. Its President, Dr Mario Cavigelli, had an excellent speech. Singer Linard Bardill honoured us with his song in Romansh about a stone pine tree. Honey from the region of Grisons and small cups made of stone pine from the same region were distributed as gifts to the participants the next day. Swiss Water Diplomacy was the theme of the celebrations, and Colonel Thomas Schmidt, Military Advisor of the Swiss Mission, gave a live talk from the watershed at the Pass Lunghin. A film about the exhibition "Sharing Water" by Swiss artist Regina Hügli and other artists was also shown.”

The "House of Switzerland in Multilateral Vienna" in the official residence of the Head of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland in Vienna offers a platform for presentations, continuing education and diplomatic activities.
In the form of its "House of Switzerland in Multilateral Vienna", Switzerland has put in place an events platform that employs innovative concepts that can be used to host a wide range of the activities of multilateral and international stakeholders based in Vienna. The talks, continuing education sessions and diplomatic processes that are held at this place of encounters also benefit from the expertise of the Swiss when it comes to negotiation and mediation.
In early 2020, a new concept in the residence of the Head of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the OSCE, the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna was unveiled.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become necessary to temporarily convert the "House of Switzerland in Multilateral Vienna" to a digital form and meetings, working dinner and other events are now organised digitally.
I should be very interested in collaborating with local multilateral actors and partner organisations on the upgrading of this platform. Do please contact me if you have any related ideas or project proposals.
