The protection of inhabitants against all form of organised crime, including terrorism, is among the priorities of the Czech Republic (CR). Modern technologies used by the Police play an important role in achieving this key objective. Registers operated by the Police of CR are managed by the main data centre and the backup data centre. The latter is in critical state. The management of the Police has decided to build a new backup centre to comply with parameters of similar facilities operated in advanced EU Member States part of the s-TESTA network.

The goal is ensuring an efficient, economical and problem-free operation of critical central information systems of the Police of CR. The modernized back-up data centre will increase the accessibility and security of critical national and international police information system in case of crises and disasters. CR Police will comply with the technological standards applied by all members of the s-TESTA network

The project will finance the following activities: (i): Preparation of the tender dossier; (ii): Selection of the supplier; (iii): Delivering and installation of the equipments; (iv): Backup unit customisation; (v): Transfer of data and testing of the new equipments; (vi): Seminar for police management before launching a routine operation of the new data centre

Risultati raggiunti:  

• Modernisation of the back-up data centre of the Police of CR through the purchase of: 1 server rack; 9 servers; Backup power supply (UPS); Operational System; Database-, backup- and cloud-software
• Procured technical Equipment (HW and SW) for the data backup center delivered and installed
• Police management informed on the new data backup center through a workshop with 73 participants (50 planned)
