Swiss-Polish Research and Innovation Programme

The Swiss-Polish Research and Innovation Programme in the framework of the Second Swiss Contribution provides 41 million Swiss francs for scientists and the opportunity to cooperate with world-class researchers. Calls for basic and applied research open now!

Roles in the programme:

  • applied research - the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) acts as Programme Operator responsible for the part related to applied research in cooperation with the Swiss Innovation Agency - Innosuisse,
  • basic research – the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) acts as Programme Operator responsible for the part related to basic research in partnership with the Polish National Science Centre (NCN).

Applied Research

Polish and Swiss researchers and enterprises can apply for funding of bilateral joint projects in all fields of applied research.

Project proposals have to be submitted by consortia comprising of at least one Polish and one Swiss entity. The eligible consortium has to include at least one enterprise, established in Poland or Switzerland. In addition to companies, the consortium may also include universities, research institutes and other entities conducting research and employing researchers.

Basic Research – Multilateral Academic Projects (MAPS)

As a multilateral initiative, MAPS aims to strengthen research collaboration between Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Switzerland.

The joint projects to be proposed have to include a Swiss researcher, and researchers from at least two of the other participating countries.

The maximum amount of funding for each team in each country is 350,000 Swiss francs for a duration of three to four years. Researchers from all disciplines are invited to submit a proposal.
