As the official representation of Switzerland, the embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture.

Important COVID-19 Information

  • Bangladesh restarts to issue visas on arrival for foreign investors and businessmen/women, provided they have a PCR based COVID-19 negative medical certificate (with English translation) and the relevant supporting documents for getting investment/business visa. The COVID-19 negative certificate needs to be obtained within 72 hours of his/her travel to Bangladesh. For further entry requirements of the country, it is advised to liaise with the respective Bangladeshi Diplomatic Missions in origin countries before making travel arrangements.
  • Foreign nationals with valid visas are also required to produce same medical certificate (with English translation) issued within 72 hours of travel indicating the passenger is COVID-19 symptom-free.
  • International airlines resume their routes to and from Bangladesh on a reduced schedule as of 16 June, 2020. For detailed information, liaise with your travel agent.
  • Due to the current situation related to the Coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh, the Embassy of Switzerland accepts visa applications only for exceptional cases. For further details, please see the Visa page.
  • The Chancery of the Embassy of Switzerland in Dhaka remains open for Swiss citiizens upon appointment. Clients wishing to visit the Chancery are requested to get in touch with the Embassy of Switzerland for an appointment at +880 255 051 601 (from 8.00AM - 4.00PM, Sunday - Thursday).
