The overall objective of the proposal under WOTR-SDC partnership is to have capacitated and empowered rural communities effectively adapted to climate change impact and integrated disaster risk reduction strategies. This will be achieved through building capacities of vulnerable communities and institutions through ecosystems based approach. The focus will be on downscaling of assessment of impact of climate change, weather based scientific advisories for enhancing agricultural production, biodiversity conservation, promotion of new financial instruments especially weather-linked insurance, carbon neutral communities and disaster risk reduction with effective governance mechanisms.
