India
On 21st December, Switzerland and India signed a mutual agreement on the application of the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters for the purposes of activating the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) between Switzerland and India. This follows the Swiss Parliament’s approval of the AEOI with 41 additional partners, including India. The mutual agreement is the last formal step before the activation of the automatic exchange of information between Switzerland and India, as well as the end of a process that started with the signing of the corresponding Joint Declaration last year. Switzerland is thus confirming its commitment to the new international AEOI standard. The AEOI with India will be implemented as of 1st January 2018, and the first exchange of data will take place in autumn 2019.
