This is the first retrospective exhibition on the painter Otto Nebel (1892-1973) to be held in Japan, in cooperation with the Otto Nebel Foundation in Bern.

The artist spent his career between Switzerland and Germany, and some of his contemporaries' works – including Paul Klee, Vassily Kandinsky and Marc Chagall – will be showcased next to his, in order to shed light on the process by which Nebel sought to establish his own style. The retrospective showcases

Nebel’s underappreciated artistic achievements, beginning with his early Bauhaus experiences.
