Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, and the Korean Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho  signed a joint declaration aimed at strengthening the existing links between Switzerland and South Korea in all areas of research, particularly in digital transformation, biotechnology and quantum technologies. The two countries reaffirmed their willingness to continue to promote the development of their research relations.

The signing took place on May 19 at the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Korea during the visit of Federal Councillor Parmelin, which was part of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and South Korea and the Swiss-Korean Innovation Week.
