Visions Sud Est - Swiss production fund

Local news, 30.03.2015

Visions Sud Est supports independent film productions (fiction and documentary, the latter only in postproduction) from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe (EU not included) and aims at making them visible worldwide. It represents a valuable support for independent filmmakers of developing and transition countries since it is often difficult for them to find funds locally for their film project. In 2015, Visions Sud Est celebrates ten years of existence, and its support to almost 100 films during this period.

The fund Visions Sud Est was created in spring 2005 in Switzerland by the trigon-film Foundation, the Fribourg International Film Festival and Visions du Réel in Nyon, in conjuction with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Since 2011 the Locarno Film Festival is also part in it. The fund supports film production in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe and promotes completed films.

The fund Visions Sud Est aims at filling the void in existing forms of support by supporting authentic and compelling projects without imposing conditions. Visions Sud Est is driven by the following purpose: to encourage independent film production in which themes are freely chosen in accordance with what the filmmakers consider important in their culture and region.
