To mark the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, the Swiss Embassy, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), is launching an exhibition at the Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria, which will run until 13 January 2025.

The exhibition is entitled "Dialogues on Humanity" and features a series of images. Humanitarian crises around the world are in the news every day. Every day we are confronted with images of conflict on television, on social networks or in newspapers. Many of us feel powerless and overwhelmed by images of violence, armed conflict and natural disasters. The contemporary art exhibition, Dialogues on Humanity, aims to respond to the feelings generated by global humanitarian crises by providing an interactive experience that encourages reflection and discussion.

Banking Fraud: Warning to Swiss Bank Account Holders

Swiss citizens living in South Africa have lately become victims of banking frauds. The perpetrators get access to details from Swiss or Liechtenstein banking accounts (names, addresses, signatures, credit balance, etc.) and use this information to forge orders to transfer money to bank accounts in Asia. To prevent such cases, the Embassy of Switzerland recommends Swiss or Liechtenstein bank account holders to be vigilant with their banking identity details and to request their bank not to send correspondence via postal service and not to process any written money transfer order without prior consultation of the bank account owner via the telephone number that is lodged with the bank (not the one on the instructions).
