Holzwege (or Wood Paths), an exhibition inspired by German philosopher Martin Heidegger, will be launched to open the ShanghART Westbund, the sixth space of the renowned ShanghART gallery in Shanghai.
The opening show also celebrates the 20th anniversary of ShanghART, founded by Swiss gallerist Lorenz Helbling in 1996. Helbling started his gallery at a time when there was little market for Chinese artists. Over the years, it has become the home of thousands of works by renowned Chinese artists, and a meeting point for international artists.
