The Embassy of Switzerland in Accra is looking for:

Job Description

  • Daily accounting bookings
  • Monthly and yearly budget analysis, drafting, controlling and reporting
  • Control and upkeep of all Embassy accounts
  • Responsible for all bank and cash operations
  • Embassy VAT declarations & refunds
  • Monthly and yearly closures
  • Payments of bills
  • Control of Debitor & creditor accounts
  • Handling payroll (including social contributions & income tax)
  • Filing in context of accounting

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting from an accredited University. Affiliation to a professional body (ACCA) would be an advantage or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience or in a similar position (preferably other Embassy or Int. Organization)
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, preferably previous use of SAP Software but not a must
  • Excellent English language skills, knowledge of French or German highly preferable

  • Analytical sense for finance and numbers
  • Meticulous working habit
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time while keeping an overview of all his/her duties
  • Knows how to prioritize important task with strict deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and social skills
  • Team-player with ability to work independently, discrete, reliable, honest, Good Communication skills
