While Ghana has made impressive economic progress over the past decades, growth has been faltering recently. Stagnating competitiveness, lack of economic diversification and weak job creation are among the main underlying challenges facing the economy. Improving the competitiveness and diversification of the economy is critical to make growth more inclusive and sustainable. This requires substantial institutional and regulatory reforms to improve the trade and business environment, increased private sector investments and productivity growth in the non-resource private sector and a better skilled labor force.

The overall goal of the program is to contribute to an inclusive and sustainable growth through enhance trade and competitiveness and creation of more and better jobs.

remove overarching and industry specific regulatory constraints to growth through improved business regulation and investment policy and promotion framework

improve competitiveness and productivity of actors in the cashew and palm oil sectors in a sustainable way (especially smallholer farmers and small and medium enterprises)

enhance and structure the necessary skills of the labor force in cashew, oil palm and construction through a demand oriented training delivery
