Multi-sectoral emergency response for the protection and basic needs of conflict-affected children and their families in South Lebanon
The escalation fo the armed conflict has dramatically worsened Lebanon's humanitarian crisis with more than 800'000 people displaced. Terre des Hommes will provide humanitarian assistance to internally displaced conflict-affected children and families in South Lebanon in six collective shelters, by improving the shelters, by providing emergency child protection and gender-based violence responsive services and by delivering essential supplies including winterization equipment.

- The escalation of the armed conflict has intensified Lebanon's humanitarian crisis, displacing more than 800 000 people, increasing the need for protection of children and their families.
- Damaged or destroyed civilian infrastructure has left many people without water and health services, while education is disrupted as schools serve as shelters.
- Displaced families in shelters are living in overcrowded and unsafe conditions with acute shortages of essential supplies and often very limited own resources.
- Provision of site management and coordination support through mobile team and activities in the 6 targeted collective sites in Saida.
- Helpdesk established in the targeted collective shelters, facilitating the referral of the most vulnerable internally displaced to specialized services.
- Fontline workers and humanitarian staff in collective shelters received capacity-building training.
- Shelters in most dire conditions supported through upgrades and minor works as per the needs to align with minimum humanitarian standards.
- Improved equitable access to immediate protection services for conflict-affected children and caregivers.
- Conflict-affected children and caregivers empowered with the knowledge and capacity to prevent harmful practices and foster a safer, more protective environment.
- Vulnerable internally displaced population benefited from hygiene promotion interventions.
- Conflict-affected internally displaced children provided with essentiel winter assistance.

Objectifs | Address the essential needs of displaced families by providing basic assistance, strengthening resilience, and enhancing access to protection services in and around six collective shelters in Saida district. |

Outcome 1: The immediate basic and protection-related shelter needs of conflict affected displaced population are reduced. Outcome 2: Conflict-affected displaced populations have improved psychosocial wellbeing and protection via equitable access to immediate emergency child protection and gender-based violence responsive services. Outcome 3: The most vulnerable internally displaced populations are provided with essential basic assistance and winterization support to meet their immediate survival needs. |
