Echoing a tweet from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Switzerland in Myanmar extends its sincere condolences to the people of Myanmar affected by the devastating earthquake. In this moment of crisis, the Embassy expresses its deepest solidarity with the people of Myanmar and is coordinating with international partners to provide assistance.

In order to support the affected population, Switzerland will provide relevant Swiss expertise and secondments to the UN, as well as additional financial resources to current partners. More than a thousand hygiene kits have already been delivered through AHA.

In view of the urgency of the situation, the Swiss Solidarity Foundation has launched a nationwide fundraising campaign and called on the Swiss people to show their solidarity with the victims and their families in Myanmar.
