The humanitarian situation in Sudan continues to be of major concern with high degrees of displacement and lack of basic services. Although the humanitarian crisis is mainly caused by conflict and criminality there is also a nationwide problem related to food insecurity and mal-nutrition.

The CHF provides the HC greater ability to target funds at the most critical needs; the CHF strengthens the response capacity, including greater sectoral responsibility and accountability. Main goal of the CHF is to have more predictable and timely funding of operational UN agencies and their NGO implementing partners in undertaking most pressing emergency activities.
