Applying the principles of the Federal Council's Sustainable Development Strategy requires the involvement of all actors at the national, cantonal, regional and communal level. With this in mind, the Sustainable Development Promotion Programme was created: to support projects and initiatives that promote sustainable development; to make an explicit contribution to the achievement of the economic, social and environmental dimensions of the 2030 Agenda; to exploit synergies between these three dimensions.
Sustainable Development Promotion Programme
The programme has supported nearly 500 projects since 2001. Its main focus is on innovative projects, and it also plays a role in initiating tangible achievements that have a direct positive impact on sustainable development. The call for projects takes place once a year and includes a specific priority theme.
