To celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and China, as well as China-Switzerland Year of Culture and Tourism, the Embassy of Switzerland in China, in collaboration with Juanzong Bookstore and Aranya Library, presents The Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2021–2024 exhibition to the public, showcasing the outstanding achievements of Switzerland in the field of book design.
This summer, the Embassy of Switzerland invited nine artists from Switzerland to pursue residencies in China as part of the CH><CN Studios program. We also invited seven Chinese artists with international study or work experience to participate. As a major outcome of the Swiss Embassy’s “CH><CN Studio” project, Breakdown Playlist brings together the latest works of these 16 emerging artists from both countries.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and China, “Absent Presence”, the first exhibition in China by the legendary Swiss photographer Henry Leutwyler, opened on November 1st 2025 at the IOMA Art Museum in Beihai, Guangxi.
Swiss glass artist Simon Berger’s first ever large-scale exhibition in China opened on 1 November at the Winland Center in Hangzhou. Berger is renowned for combining technical expertise, unique craftmanship and a distinctive visual language in his innovative glass-breaking art. Using safety glass as his canvas, Simon Berger skilfully shatters the surface with a hammer to create vivid portraits – a method he refers to as 'precision painting'.

“Surface and Beneath”: Works by Peter Panyoczki,’ an introduction to the multi-facetted world of this talented artist who is adept at exploring complex themes of place and identity, as well as the origins and expression of life and nature. His toolkit for these explorations is immense: painting, sculpture and drawing meet photography, digital technology and installation, whilst the natural meets the man made. The show covers a range of works, including some works on paper and miniature paintings previously unseen in Asia.

An adventure on land and an ascent of eras and of 20 millennia from the contemporary to the Paleolithic ages - Swiss photographer, writer and adventurer, Marc Progin is back from the wilderness of Mongolia to present a land and cosmic journey through the ages of Central Asia history. His new photo exhibition will tell us of an extraordinary expedition which idea, goal and plan were to travel back in times with a camel caravan in search of ancient civilizations, empires and cultures while trying to discover anthropomorphic statues, tumuli, tombs, megaliths, grave steles, deer stones, petroglyphs and other remains dating back millenniums.
