Take your time to discover more about the relationship Switzerland enjoys with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the different areas in which my country supports Myanmar’s development. 

Ever since Switzerland opened its Embassy in Yangon in 2012, ties amongst the two countries have deepened further. Under the current Swiss Cooperation Strategy Myanmar 2019 – 2023, we focus on three major cooperation areas: i) peace, statebuilding and protection; ii) skills and market development; and iii) health; with a budget totaling close to 37 mio USD/year. 

Bilateral trade and investment relations between our two countries are limited but show potential. More and more Swiss companies and small and medium-sized enterprises are active in Myanmar. The Embassy has initiated the “Myanmar Swiss Informal Business Network” to facilitate exchanges between Swiss entrepreneurs and to foster dialogue with the Embassy.     

Our website also contains useful information for foreigners traveling in Myanmar and for Myanmar people visiting Switzerland. I hope we may welcome you as a frequent visitor to our website.
