«Grenzgänger – Ein Blick über den Tellerrand»

Thursday, 28.01.2016 – Thursday, 28.01.2016

Literature

Refugees – a cutting-edge topic that provided the impetus for this event. Melinda Nadj Abonji, Catalin Dorian Florescu and Bekim Sejranovic are all authors with a refugee background. They talk about identity, homeland and literature that is not written in their native language. The intention is to provide a versatile picture of countries that currently are often associated with war and political conflict.

The texts are read by the authors in the original language. Actress Maria Bock recites the Norwegian translation of the Swiss authors. Translator and journalist Bernhard Mohr leads the discussion.

The «Goethe-Institut» in Oslo, in collaboration with «Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste», the Robert-Bosch Foundation, «Literarisches Colloquium Berlin», the Pro Helvetia Foundation and the Embassy of Switzerland invites to an evening with panel discussion and short readings.

Discussion: English, texts: Norwegian/German
