Orchestre des Continent, a collaboration between Singapore and Switzerland, brings together 88 musicians from 3 music institutions – the Geneva, Lausanne and Yong Siew Toh conservatories of music. The Summer University 2015 which will take place in Singapore and in Switzerland culminates in 2 orchestral performances at the Esplanade – Theatres by the Bay in Singapore on 22 July, and at the Paleo Festival on 26 July in Switzerland. The concert features Swiss-Chinese pianist Louis Schwizgebel who won the Geneva International Music Competition at the age of seventeen and, two years later, the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York. In 2013 he was announced as a BBC New Generation Artist. The concert will be conducted by the acclaimed Swiss conductor Thierry Fischer, Music Director of the Utah Symphony Orchestra.
