The Embassy oversees the development of Singapore’s domestic and foreign policies and informs the Swiss authorities on political decisions, trends and issues which are of interest and relevance to Switzerland. Moreover, the Embassy represents Swiss interests by liaising with Singaporean officials on matters such as security, the environment, the co-operation with international organisations and human rights, among others.
The success of such exchanges relies on the fostering of positive relationships with governmental, non-governmental and other political institutions in Singapore. An important tool are working visits by Swiss politicians and high level officials to Singapore and by their Singaporean counterparts to Switzerland. Official contacts form an integral part of the promotion and protection of Swiss interests and the common understandings between Switzerland and Singapore.
