OCHA Humanitarian Forum Sudan Crisis

Following the outbreak of violence between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) millions of Sudanese face dire humanitarian needs. The warring parties committed in Jeddah on 7th November to improve the safe and unhindered humanitarian access to persons in need. As part of this commitment, the RSF and the SAF agreed to participate in an OCHA led Humanitarian Forum to work out the operational details.

Hintergrund Since the eruption of the armed clashes between the RSF and the SAF serious impediments limiting humanitarian access have exacerbated the human suffering. Ongoing insecurity and violence have hindered the delivery of aid. In addition, humanitarian assistance is being delayed due to severe bureaucratic and administrative impediments that delay or prevent the entry and deployment of international humanitarian staff and supplies into and across Sudan. These obstructions have been further exacerbated due to the lack of commitment and cooperation by the parties to the conflict to respect the humanitarian principles and provide safe and unhindered access to people in need, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
Ziele OCHA led Humanitarian Forum promotes trust between the parties to the conflict in Sudan and thereby contributes to improved humanitarian access.

Mittelfristige Wirkungen Safe and unhindered humanitarian access to people in need in Sudan is improved.
