Dear fellow citizens, friends of Switzerland and visitors,

Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta!

Having arrived in Atlanta in July 2022, my wife and I are happy to be back in the USA. It is an honor for me to be the Swiss representative in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Atlanta which includes 11 states in the Southeast and the Cayman Islands.

I had previous postings in the USA as a Vice Consul in Chicago in the 90s and as the Head of the Commercial Service at the Embassy in Washington D.C. ten years later. I started in the consular service of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in the 80s and also had five postings in Latin America (Lima, Havana, La Paz, San José and Sao Paulo) and two in Europe (Dublin and Budapest).

The team at the Consulate General in Atlanta is providing an excellent service to the Swiss community in the Southeast of the USA and to foreign nationals who need a visa to visit, work or study in Switzerland, and we want to keep it this way.

The Consulate General is also marking the presence of Switzerland and fostering the excellent relations between our two countries in the consular jurisdiction. The Swiss-American economic relations and the economic development in the Southeast of the USA are thriving. Switzerland is a very reliable partner of the USA, and the Swiss representations need to make it known. I am looking forward to collaborating with the Swiss Business Hub to promote Swiss exports to the USA and investments in Switzerland. I am also eager to work with Swissnex and Switzerland Tourism to promote scientific relations, research, innovation, and travel to Switzerland. It is also a priority for me to bring Swiss culture closer to the American public and create a better understanding for all things Swiss.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions we might be able to answer via atlanta@eda.admin.ch.

Thank you for your visit.

Best regards,

Urs Brönnimann
