As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture.

  • Schengen Visa

Switzerland does not have a consular section in Bolivia. Switzerland's consular affairs in Bolivia are the responsibility of the Swiss embassy in Peru respectively the Andean Regional Consular Centre in Lima.

Switzerland has a Schengen representation agreement with Spain in Bolivia. To obtain a Schengen visa for Switzerland, you can apply for one at the Spanish Embassy in La Paz or at the Spanish Consulate General in Santa Cruz.

The Swiss Embassy in Bolivia is not able to inform you about the requirements/documents that have to be submitted to the Spanish authorities. Please contact them directly.

It is also possible to apply for a visa in person at the Swiss Embassy in Lima respectively the Andean Regional Consular Centre in Lima - Peru. You can find all information about this under this link or contact lima@eda.admin.ch.

  • Entry requirements for Switzerland

As of 02.05.2022 all restrictions on entry to Switzerland in connection with COVID19 have been lifted, regardless of country of origin or purpose of travel. Therefore, the ordinary entry regulations apply again. Further information can be found on the website of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).

If you are entering Switzerland by transit through another Schengen airport, we recommend that you contact the representation of the transit country to find out about any restrictions that may apply.

It is the traveller's responsibility to find out about possible restrictions in the countries of transit and/or previous stay as well as the conditions on board the airline. Please contact the representation and the airline concerned.

Regarding possible restrictions on entry into Bolivia due to COVID19, we recommend that you contact the Bolivian Ministry of Health, the Bolivian Migration Office or the Bolivian Consulate in your country of residence directly.
