As the official representation of Switzerland, the embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture.
The Embassy of Switzerland in the Islamic Republic of Iran is closely monitoring the developments of the situation in connection with the conflict in the Middle East. Tensions are high and a significant deterioration in the security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran is possible at any time.
For Swiss citizens: Travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran is generally not recommended. The FDFA recommends that Swiss nationals leave the country using their own means if it appears possible and safe to do so. Please observe the FDFA's travel advice (in German, French and Italian) and inform yourself independently regarding the current situation and follow the instructions of the local authorities.
Swiss nationals who remain in the Islamic Republic of Iran or travel there contrary to the recommendations of the FDFA must be aware that Switzerland may only be able to provide limited services or none at all and would have only limited possibilities to provide assistance in an emergency if the security situation deteriorates further.
