PROCAMM – Projet de la Promotion de la construction antisismique en matériaux naturels au Maroc

On 08.09.2023, Morocco was hit by a strong earthquake in the remote Atlas Mountains region. 2,900 people were killed and more than 59,000 houses were totally or partially destroyed. Morocco's reconstruction plan is guided by the king's directives involving locally adapted solutions. This project contributes to ongoing efforts by building sustainably capacity and knowledge transfer around expertise in earthquake-proof construction with local materials benefitting remote regions.


CONTRIBUTION - ESPACE JURIDIQUE COMMUN

Le Partenariat de voisinage entre le Royaume du Maroc et le Conseil de l’Europe (CdE) définit le cadre stratégique dans lequel s’inscrivent le dialogue politique et la coopération technique entre le Maroc et le CdE pour la période 2022-2025, visant à soutenir les réformes engagées par le pays afin de consolider la démocratie, l’état de droit et la bonne gouvernance ainsi que la construction d’un modèle social basé sur la solidarité et la cohésion. Ce partenariat ambitionne l’élargissement de l’espace juridique commun, en soutenant l'harmonisation des normes législatives et institutionnelles marocaines avec les standards européens.

Les initiatives mises en oeuvre dans ce cadre et l’ancrage progressif du cadre législatif marocain dans les standards européens permettent de garantir la durabilité des réformes, à travers des actions coordonnées entre les acteurs nationaux et internationaux. La présente contribution s’insère dans les projets mis en oeuvre dans ce cadre.


North Africa Cultural Program (NACP)

By developing a Regional Cultural Program, Switzerland seeks to facilitate intercultural dialogue and exchange as a foundation for peace and conflict sensitive development in North Africa and to foster artistic expression as a driver of change in support to the challenges of transition. This will promote peaceful coexistence, political stability and social cohesion in the region, hence providing alternatives for the fulfillment of North African youth in their own societies.


Morocco IFRC Emergency Appeal Earthquake 2023

12.09.2023 - 31.12.2025

An earthquake with a 6.8 magnitude shook Morocco on 8 September. This earthquake was the deadliest in Morocco since 2004. At least 3’000 people were killed, mostly in Marrakech and the provinces in the High Atlas Mountains, while another 5’600 were injured. The SDC will support the victims of the earthquake with a contribution to the IFRC Appeal. 


Remotecoders: IT talents from the MENA Region

Remotecoders offers a solution to the geographic mismatch between ICT talents in North Africa and ICT jobs in Europe. Local vulnerable youth, women, refugees and migrants in North African countries are recruited, trained and connected to remote ICT work opportunities in Europe and local jobs. With this contribution, SDC is addressing the challenges of job creation, digitalization, migration and protection of vulnerable groups by testing an innovative partnership (Private Sector Engagement).


Allocation of SDC Funding to UNHCR Operations in 2017

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to UNHCR operations allows the UN Refugee Agency to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies.

Die Zerstörung in Syrien ist enorm, und die Zahl der Obdachlosen wächst stetig. Das UNO-Hochkommissariat für Flüchtlinge koordiniert die Wiederaufbauarbeiten vor Ort. Seit Beginn der Syrien-Krise hat die DEZA 13,4 Millionen Franken an die Organisation für ihre Arbeit in Syrien überwiesen. Schweizer Experten waren zudem an der Entwicklung langfristig ausgerichteter Baustandards für die Rückkehr von vertriebenen Bevölkerungsgruppen beteiligt.
