This project supports the recovery of small and medium enterprises to sustain production and retain or create jobs. Amid a fragile context marked by trade and movement restrictions, low productivity, and weak institutions, the programme delivers targeted assistance – technical, digital, legal, and financial – to restore business operations and expand market linkages. By combining immediate recovery support with longerterm strengthening of value chains, it contributes to positioning the private sector as a driver of recovery.
Contribution to the UNICEF Emergency response Humanitarian Action for Children 2025 to 2026

Switzerland supports UNICEF’s emergency intervention in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. UNICEF provides life-saving support in water, sanitation and hygiene, health, nutrition, education, child protection, social protection at the benefit of crises affected children and their caregivers. The contribution includes the amount provided as part of the Federal Council’s decision from 26 November 2025 to grant CHF 23 million to support the “Gaza Peace Plan” of the United States.
OPT- GAZA: Evacuation of warwounded children and their families from Gaza

The intervention aims to evacuate 20 war-wounded children from Gaza to Switzerland for medical treatment as well as their family members. The focus is to ensure specialized medical care and protection for the most vulnerable victims of the conflict. Relevance lies in responding to the acute humanitarian crisis and the collapse of Gaza’s health system. The initiative highlights Switzerland’s humanitarian tradition and commitment to international solidarity. In addition to four Federal Departments of the Swiss Confederation, the key partners are: WHO, MSF-Switzerland, Rega, and the Swiss Air Force.
Integrated child protection and education in emergencies intervention for displaced and Conflict-Affected Children and Families in Gaza and the West Bank

Switzerland, through its partner Terre des Hommes Foundation Lausanne, supports the provision of critical child protection and education in emergencies services to conflict-affected children in the West Bank and Gaza. Thereby it contributes to their protection from violence and enables access to psychosocial support and learning opportunities.
Support to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Integrated multi-sectoral humanitarian response in Gaza and the West Bank

In response to the humanitarian situation in Gaza and escalation of violence in the West Bank, Switzerland contributes to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s integrated, multi-sectoral humanitarian response in the OPT. Crises affected people are supported with protection and legal services, water and sanitation, shelter and education in emergency. This assistance is flexibly adjusted to the evolving situation and humanitarian needs on the ground.

SMEs are the backbone of the Palestinian economy, generating most private sector jobs. This intervention improves access to finance for SMEs in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It addresses both sides of the lending relationship: helping SMEs obtain and manage credit while enabling financial institutions to better serve them. Building on existing loan guarantee schemes, the project mobilises additional financing for SMEs, safeguarding viable firms and jobs in a fragile context and supporting opportunities for growth.
Contribution to the WHO Health Emergency response in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank

WHO aims to save lives and reduce preventable morbidity and mortality with a focus on the delivery of essential health services, supplies and medical evacuations. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision of 21 May 2025 to grant CHF 9 million in humanitarian relief assistance in the OPT.

Paediatric Surgery Access (PSA), Children Relief Bethlehem (CRB)

This project strengthens the healthcare system for children in the West Bank. It enhances access to paediatric services by supporting infrastructure development and capacity-building efforts at the Caritas Baby Hospital. In close coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, this intervention will complement the local health care system – and raise awareness of paediatric healthcare needs in the occupied Palestinian territory.

HEKS: Support Conflict-affected IDPs in Gaza

Through this support, Switzerland is helping meet urgent humanitarian needs of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip who has been displaced and is now living in makeshift shelters. The intervention provides kits to improve shelter conditions, offers assistance to help cover essential needs, and delivers targeted mental health and psychological support.
