Scaling up SABA Saneamiento Básico Integral

Projet terminé

A model for integral water & sanitation in rural areas called SABA has been developed and validated in Cusco and Cajamarca with SDC support. The SABA model has been institutionalized through regional policies and action plans. Regional governments and municipalities have invested their own funds for implementing the SABA model. National authorities are designing a national policy on the basis of the SABA model. Overall goal: Increase the percentage of population having access to quality water, by contributing to realize a large scaling up of the implementation of the SABA model in the rural municipalities of 7 regions of the Peruvian Sierra (4 in the South and 3 in the North), while capitalizing on the experiences of the SANBASUR and PROPILAS SDC funded projects in Cusco and Cajamarca, respectively.
