Dance company “Alias” from Geneva to participate at the Belgrade Dance Festival

On 3rd of March 2021 the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, took part at the press conference of the 18th Belgrade Dance Festival. The event was held at the National Assembly in the presence of the President of the National Assembly, H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic, the Minister of Culture, H.E. Mrs. Maja Gojkovic and the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Goran Vesic as well as the diplomatic representatives of countries contributing to the Festival.

Swiss Ambassador meets Serbian Prime Minister

On 19 February 2021, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, was received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Ms. Ana Brnabic, for a courtesy visit. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to review the excellent bilateral relations between Switzerland and Serbia.

A Serbian-Swiss success story: Swiss Ambassador visits Science Technology Park Belgrade

Upon invitation, Swiss Ambassador Urs Schmid took the opportunity to visit the Science Technology Park (STP) in Belgrade on 10 February 2021. The Ambassador was impressed by the six-building hub, which is home to more than 100 companies with over 850 employees. The visit was an ideal chance to meet and talk to many Serbian entrepreneurs and get an idea of the dynamic and innovative environment of the STP.

Swiss Ambassador meets Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government

On 8 February 2021, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, H.E. Mrs. Marija Obradović. The meeting provided a good opportunity to reinforce the close bilateral cooperation between Switzerland and the Ministry on a number of projects and programs. 

Ceremony for the Covid 19 Rapid Response Grants

At the online ceremony SIGN ACT: Urgent Support, which was broadcast live on social media, the goals and significance of ACT project were presented. At the beginning of the ceremony, Sascha Müller, on behalf of the Swiss Government, Jens Engelli, on behalf of the partner organization Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and Maja Stojanović from Civic Initiatives wished the awarded organizations success in the realization of their projects.

Swiss Government supports countering the consequences of COVID-19 at the local level

The Swiss PRO Program has published two new public calls with the aim of supporting local communities in mitigating the impacts of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through these two public calls the Swiss Government will support up to 30 projects with a total of EUR 435,000. The projects should increase access to social services for vulnerable social groups and enhance the lives of citizens living in substandard Roma settlements.

Swiss Ambassador meets Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs

On 19 January 2021, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Mrs. Darija Kisić Tepavčević. Given that the current year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Swiss cooperation program in Serbia, the meeting provided an excellent opportunity to appreciate the close bilateral cooperation that exists with the Ministry in several areas of its competence.

Grants for innovative partnership initiatives between CSOs and LGUs

The call will be open until 12th of February 2021 and potential applicants are partnerships which consist of one or more civil society organization and one local government (city or municipality). The partners should operate within the following geographical area: Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Southeastern Serbia.

Ceremony for Network Advocacy Grants

The Ceremony #SIGNACT_NETWORKS, organized on December 16, brought together 10 networks of grant winners within the project "For an Active Civil Society Together - ACT“. The selected networks include a total of 67 civil society organizations throughout Serbia and in the next 18 months they will conduct campaigns on key topics such as the position of young people, the position of children, the position of women 45+. environmental issues, decentralization, child marriages, psychological support and others.
