Hintergrund |
Asia is urbanizing fast. Cities are facing growing challenges to provide reliable access for their population to basic services such as water supply, wastewater and solid waste treatment, electricity and transport. There is a huge shortfall of urban infrastructure, due to financial constraints of the countries, but also by a shortage of well-conceptualized projects attractive for both public and private financing institutions. |
Ziele |
CDIA supports cities in preparing urban infrastructure investment projects which fulfill criteria of environmental and climate friendly development, pro-poor development and good governance, and in finding funding sources for their implementation. SECO’s contribution is partially earmarked for CDIA work in SECO priority countries Indonesia and Vietnam and for climate friendly urban investment projects. |
