The Swiss Malaria Group is organising a public event in Bern to mark World Malaria Day.

Switzerland is leading the fight against malaria, combining research excellence with decades-long experience in the field. Founded and co-funded by the SDC, the Swiss Malaria Group intends to continue its commitment to achieving the third goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

The Swiss Malaria Group and the Parliamentary Group for Global Health will sign the Bern Declaration reiterating Switzerland's leading role in the fight against malaria during an opening ceremony on the Bundesplatz (Federal Square). The participants will then be invited to the Rathaus (Town Hall of Bern) for a symposium with a number of key speakers including SDC Director-General Manuel Sager and a video message from WHO Director-General Dr Margaret Chan.

Entry is free of charge. Simultaneous interpretation into French and German will be provided.
